As I near the end of my education career, I have decided to answer the call to a different kind of public service and offer myself as a candidate for State Representative for the 71st District (Wayne County, Hardin County, Lewis County, and part of Lawrence County). I do not claim to be a politician, but I do think that I possess the necessary qualities and characteristics missing in many politicians; common sense, integrity, and a desire to make things better for my neighbors.
In order to be successful, I am organizing an aggressive campaign and am bringing together the resources necessary to win. I have turned in my petition. I have brought Dr. Shirley Curry into the campaign as Treasurer and advisor. I have attracted a seasoned campaign consultant to assist me. I have created a campaign budget and strategic plan and am in the process of raising money and building a team of volunteers.
We will win this race based upon a strong and organized grassroots organization!
District 71 is an enormous area to cover, and I cannot do it alone. That's why I'm turning to the people who know me best, and inviting them to get involved in my campaign and help me make a difference. Last election, the incumbent narrowly defeated Dr. Curry by only four votes. With your help, we will win this time, with votes to spare!
If elected, I promise I will work just as hard as your State Representative as I have as teacher, principal, and coach for Wayne County High School.
